Can I let my turtle swim in my swimming pool? - keeping water out of ears while swimming

I have a Red-eared turtle and stored in a water tank, a pier and all that jazz pilgrims, but also throughout the day and leave for a while. This is probably a silly question, but I wonder whether it would be advantageous for them to swim in a chlorinated pool for a few minutes?
